Founder and Executive Director of Mother's Reaching Hands, a licensed Evangelist and active member of Mt. Olive Church of God in Christ in Ypsilanti. She is the District Missionary for WE Sheard Memorial District of Churches (Church of God in Christ).
Betty J. McMullan is the seventh child born to Deacon Julius and Mother Gertrude Powell. Having been educated in the Ypsilanti Public School System, she went on to receive a BBA in Healthcare Administration from Cleary University and attended Eastern Michigan University. She is married to Elder D. Maurice McMullan, they are the proud parents of 6 children, 13 grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. After working 29 years in the Department of Radiology, she founded Tender Childcare Development Center. There she gave underprivileged preschoolers the head start needed to boost their academic skills before starting Kindergarten. Missionary McMullan has served in many positions in her home church, Mt. Olive COGIC. Currently she serves as the New Members Class Teacher Director of the Community Vacation Bible School, leader of the Convalescence Home Ministries, one of the adult Christian Education Class teachers, and a member of the Secretarial team.
Missionary McMullan has been blessed with wisdom and insight needed to assist the women working with her in WE Sheard Memorial District Women’s Department. District Missionary Betty McMullan has been recently promoted to the Chairperson of the Finance Committee of MSW 1 Women's Department and also serves on the Advisory Board.
Her passion is helping families in need, especially mothers, which led her to start Mother's Reaching Hands in 2022.

Pastor Willie Powell
Willie is the founder and Executive Director of Community Family Life Center. He was born and raised in Ypsilanti and received his K-12 education within the Ypsilanti Public School System. Willie is a graduate from The University of Michigan and holds a degree in Business Administration.
Willie brings over 25 years of experience in fiscal management, accounting, and auditing. Through his work at the City of Ann Arbor, Willie served within the Department of Community Development and was given the opportunity to come alongside non-profit organizations to help strengthen their financial capacity. In addition, he has served as the Executive Director of the City of Ann Arbor Employees’ Retirement System.
Willie believes that strong community partnerships are the catalyst to bringing about social and economic change within low- resourced communities. Therefore, he is passionate about collaborating with community leaders and partners to develop programs for the adults, children, and families who live in the Sugar Brook and surrounding communities.

Elder DeLand McMullan
Deland is a faithful member and Elder at Grace Fellowship House of Solutions, C.O.G.I.C. in Ypsilanti and the Chairman of the Willie E. Sheard Memorial District (WESMD) Prayer Ministry Team.
He holds a Masters of Social Work (MSW) and a Masters of Business Administration (MBA). He is retired from Brighton Hospital where he served as a Addiction and Substance Abuse counselor for many years.
He is the supportive husband of the founder, Betty McMullan, the father of 5 children, 13 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
